Passengers returning to work after Christmas will be facing rail fare hikes of up to 5 per cent on season tickets and peak time tickets. Possibly even higher on other fares that the government don’t set prices for.
That means that yet again, fares are racing ahead of people’s wages.
British passengers continue to pay much higher fares than passengers on publicly-owned railways in Europe.
We need an affordable, publicly-owned railway that puts passengers and taxpayers first.
Come and join us at Kings Cross Station on Thursday 2nd January from 0730 – 0830 and let our hard pressed rail passengers know they have a voice and a campaign that stands up for them.
