The last week in May saw our activists out and about around the country talking to rail passengers at stations and in public meetings raising our fears about the government’s proposals for the future of our railways.
In just one week, over 800 rail passengers sent in postcards calling for their MPs to register their opposition to the 20,000 job cuts, fare hikes, ticket office closures, service reductions and break up of Network Rail that we expect to see in the coming months.
And, of course, you may have noticed we were all over the media. The Daily Mirror just one of the papers that gave us significant coverage.
Those postcards keep rolling in, showing the depth of feeling that’s out there among rail passengers. We will shortly be announcing plans for our next days of action and some further activity. Many thanks for all your support.
