Action for Rail today – what a fantastic turn out

20 years ago today, the Act was passed that ushered in the privatisation of our railways.

Privatisation has failed to deliver on any of its promises. Fares have rocketed, public subsidy more than doubled. Private train companies earn huge returns for minimal investment.

We believe there is an alternative, a national integrated, railway under public ownership that puts passengers and taxpayers before rail company profits. The general public are on our side, this latest YouGov poll shows.

And that’s why we had such a fantastic turn out from all our Action for Rail supporters the length and breadth of the country.

Please take a moment to build on today’s action by emailing your MP, asking them to support a parliamentary motion for public rail services.
